At Mind Theory Therapy, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment for people of all ages and backgrounds. My approach is to identify patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be causing distress and to help clients find more effective ways of dealing with life’s challenges. I use a range of evidence-based methods to help people become more aware of their thoughts and feelings and to bring about positive changes in their lives. My goal is to empower my clients to find balance and joy in their lives.
My Story
I am a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and I am Licensed as a Professional Counselor in the state of Texas.
I am a mother, a former track and field athlete, a daughter of an immigrant, a family member of someone who struggles with mental illness, and a survivor of trauma.

I have worked in the field of mental health since 2007. I started as a psychiatric specialist for an adolescent group home where I mentored and taught anger management and stress and relaxation skills in group setting. I was once someone who witnessed mental illness in my family. I went through my own therapy and through this as well as studying clinical mental health, I learned and then gained a deeper passion for helping others gain control of their lives through therapy,

I currently am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas, where I work with the local mental health department. My work is with people in mental health crisis who are from different walks of life, some who have never had mental health problems or seen a professional, others with much more experience.
This experience has awarded me the privilege of gaining knowledge about how the mind works and my home visits with clients provided me the whole picture. Its not just people that are affected, it is their environment that often causes the presents of mental illness to show itself. Mental illness does not discriminate. So I figured that if I continue my work in private practice, through providing therapy to the public, I may future do my part in transforming and saving the lives of people.
